SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today issued the following statement regarding the death of Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Robert Paris:
“Anne and I are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Deputy Paris. Our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Paris’ family and friends and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department as they mourn this terrible loss.”
Deputy Paris, 53, died April 12 after being shot while conducting a civil process service at a residence in Modesto. Deputy Paris was a 16-year veteran of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputy Paris is survived by his parents, Robert and Jane Paris, a brother and two adult children.
In honor of Deputy Paris, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
