SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Adria Jenkins-Jones, 53, of Elk Grove, has been appointed chief deputy director of the California Department of Human Resources, where she has served as chief of the Selection Division since 2015. She served in several positions at the Department of Finance from 1993 to 2015, including chief of human resources, associate personnel analyst, executive assistant, chief of recruitment and selection, associate personnel analyst/staff service analyst and examination technician. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $165,684. Jenkins-Jones is registered without party preference.
Alicia Wong, 43, of Elk Grove, has been appointed operations project manager for the California Complete Count Census. Wong has been project director at the California Department of Technology since 2017, where she was branch chief of the Office of Digital Innovation, Enterprise Planning and Portfolio Management from 2016 to 2017 and a project communications and policy manager from 2013 to 2016. Wong was strategic communications manager at Financial Information Systems for California from 2012 to 2013, fiscal and resource manager at the California Department of Motor Vehicles from 2009 to 2012 and administrative services chief in the Division of Flood Management at the California Department of Water Resources from 2007 to 2009. She was a budget analyst in the Attorney General’s Office from 2002 to 2007, where she was a legal support services analyst from 2000 to 2002. Wong was publications lead analyst at the California Department of Health Services in 2000. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $130,524. Wong is a Democrat.
NaTesha Johnson, 42, of Bakersfield, has been appointed to the 15th District Agricultural Association, Kern County Fair Board of Directors. Johnson has been president at Upside Productions LLC since 2010 and program specialist at Employers Training Resources since 2006. She is a member of the Upside Academy Inc., Bakersfield City School District Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee, Patricia Jean Foundation and the Bakersfield City School District Education Foundation. Johnson earned a Master of Public Administration degree from California State University, Bakersfield. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Johnson is registered without party preference.
