Governor Brown to Survey Wildfire Impacts, Meet with Emergency Officials in Shasta County Tomorrow

ANDERSON – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. will survey wildfire damage and meet with local leaders and fire and emergency management officials at the Carr Fire Incident Command Post in Shasta County tomorrow. The Governor will hold a media availability at the conclusion of a private briefing.

Media Availability

When: Tomorrow, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at approx. 11:30 a.m. All media must be in place and setup by 11:15 a.m.

Where: Shasta District Fairgrounds, 1890 Briggs St., Anderson, CA 96007.

Last week, Governor Brown declared a state of emergency in Shasta, Lake, Mendocino, NapaRiverside and Mariposa counties due to multiple fires and secured a presidential declaration – within 24 hours of making the request – for direct federal assistance to further support communities impacted by the Carr Fire.

Earlier this week, Governor Brown joined the state’s top emergency management officials at the State Operations Center in Mather to provide an update on the ongoing fight against fires burning across California. The State Operations Center is activated to its highest level to help local, state and federal emergency response officials address emergency management needs.
