Governor Brown, Emergency Officials to Provide Wildfire Update at State Operations Center Today

MATHER – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today will join the state’s top emergency management officials, including the leaders of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, CAL FIRE, California Highway Patrol and the California National Guard, at the State Operations Center in Mather to provide an update on the ongoing fight against fires burning across California.

Over the past week, Governor Brown has declared a state of emergency in Shasta, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Riverside and Mariposa counties due to multiple fires and secured a presidential declaration providing direct federal assistance to further support communities impacted by the Carr Fire – within 24 hours of making the request.

The Governor’s Office of Emergency Services has activated the State Operations Center to its highest level and is coordinating with local, state and federal emergency response officials to address emergency management needs.
