SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Elaine Howle, 59, of El Dorado Hills, has been reappointed as California State Auditor. Howle has served as California State Auditor since 2000. She held several positions at the California State Auditor’s Office from 1993 to 2000, including supervising auditor, audit manager and deputy state auditor. She was supervising state financial examiner at the Employment Development Department from 1992 to 1993 and supervising auditor at the Office of the Auditor General from 1983 to 1992. Howle is a member of the National State Auditors Association, National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $201,869. Howle is registered without party preference.
William A. Rawlings, 42, of Diamond Bar, has been appointed to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors. Rawlings has been a computer facilities coordinator at Mt. San Antonio College since 1999. He was computer operator for the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District from 1998 to 1999, where he was a part-time computer operator from 1996 to 1998 and a substitute computer operator in 1996. Rawlings was a microcomputer specialist at Fullerton College from 1993 to 1997, where he was senior computer lab technician from 1993 to 1995. He is a member of the California Educational Technology Professionals Association, California School Employees Association and the Watchmen Arts Association Board of Directors. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Rawlings is a Democrat.
Tyrone Evans, 58, of San Francisco, has been reappointed to the 1a District Agricultural Association, Grand National Rodeo, Cow Palace Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2016. Evans has been a superintendent at Rudolph and Sletten since 2015. He was a project executive at the Baines Group Incorporated from 2010 to 2015, owner at Statewide Concrete Pumping Inc. from 1994 to 2010 and a superintendent at the Turner Construction Company from 1983 to 1994. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Evans is registered without party preference.
Anthony Pantaleoni, 65, of San Francisco, has been reappointed to the 1a District Agricultural Association, Grand National Rodeo, Cow Palace Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2008. He has been principal architect at Kotas-Pantaleoni Architects since 1981. He was a part-time instructor at the City College of San Francisco Architectural Department from 1982 to 1984 and designer and project architect at Zoe Works Architects from 1979 to 1981 and at Neeley-Lofrano Architects from 1977 to 1979. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Pantaleoni is a Republican.
Alfonso Perez, 51, of San Francisco, has been reappointed to the 1a District Agricultural Association, Grand National Rodeo, Cow Palace Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2016. Perez has been a project manager at George P. Johnson since 2010 and a principal at Creative I Studio since 2002. He was a creative director at AsianWeek from 2007 to 2008, director at the Meeting Architects from 2000 to 2002 and art director at Bank of America from 1999 to 2000. He is president of the Filipino American Arts Exposition and a member of the San Francisco Entertainment Commission, Filipino Food Movement, Bataan Legacy Historical Society and the San Francisco Filipino Cultural Center. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Perez is a Democrat.
Barbara Wanvig, 78, of San Francisco, has been reappointed to the 1a District Agricultural Association, Grand National Rodeo, Cow Palace Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2006. Wanvig held several positions at Chevron from 1977 to 1987, including government affairs legislative analyst and issue manager and corporate communications publications editor. She held several positions at the Sacramento Bee from 1970 to 1977, including staff writer, bureau chief and editorial writer. Wanvig was a staff and medical writer at the Fort Worth Press from 1968 to 1970 and a staff writer at the Spokane Chronicle from 1961 to 1965. She is executive vice president of the California Heritage Council and a member of the Presidio Historical Association and the Fine Arts Museums Auxiliary. Wanvig is a past vice president of the YWCA of San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Wanvig is registered without party preference.
David Baldwin, 50, of Atascadero, has been reappointed to the 16th District Agricultural Association, California Mid-State Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2014. Baldwin has been a labor compliance officer at the Labor Management Compliance Council since 2016. He was a business representative at the Cement Masons Local 600 from 1995 to 2016 and a cement mason journeyman at Bechtel Construction Company from 1989 to 1995 and at Barnes Dillingham Construction Company from 1986 to 1988. Baldwin held several positions at Bechtel Construction Company from 1985 to 1986, including cement mason apprentice and cement mason journeyman. He was a cement mason apprentice at H.P. Foley Company from 1983 to 1984. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Baldwin is a Democrat.
S. Greer Fuller Woodruff, 33, of Templeton, has been reappointed to the 16th District Agricultural Association, California Mid-State Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2015. Woodruff has been owner and operator at Scout Rental Co. since 2014. She was a tasting room and special events manager at Silver Horse Winery from 2010 to 2014 and at Pomar Junction Vineyard and Winery from 2008 to 2010. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Woodruff is registered without party preference.
