SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Arsenio Mataka, 40, of Sacramento, has been appointed technical advisor at the California Public Utilities Commission. Mataka has served as assistant secretary for environmental justice and tribal affairs at the California Environmental Protection Agency since 2011. He held several positions at California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. from 2010 to 2011, including directing attorney and staff attorney. He was a consultant at Mataka Consulting from 2009 to 2010, a legal extern at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9 in 2009 and an American Bar Association diversity fellow in environmental law in the Office of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa in 2008. Mataka earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Humphreys College, Laurence Drivon School of Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $140,952. Mataka is a Democrat.
Rosalie Kramm, 57, of San Diego, has been reappointed to the California Court Reporters Board, where she has served since 2013. Kramm has been principal and court reporter at Kramm Court Reporting Inc. since 1985. She is a member of the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program Executive Committee and the Goals for Life Board. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Kramm is a Democrat.
Toni O’Neill, 60, of Riverside, has been reappointed to the California Court Reporters Board, where she has served since 2006. O’Neil has been senior court reporter at the Riverside County Superior Court since 2013, where she was a supervising court reporter from 2009 to 2013, official court reporter from 1995 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2008, and senior court reporter from 2001 to 2004 and from 2008 to 2009. She was an official court reporter for the State of Wyoming District Court from 1994 to 1995, a staff reporter at Gillespie Reporting Service from 1989 to 1990 and a partner at Bowlus-O’Neill Reporting Services from 1982 to 1989. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. O’Neill is a Democrat.
