SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. will join former Vice President Al Gore in Los Angeles this evening for a screening of “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.” Tomorrow, Governor Brown will speak at the opening of Proterra’s new 100,000 square-foot zero-emission battery-electric bus production facility in the City of Industry and later join state and local leaders in Bell Gardens to sign AB 617 by Assemblymembers Cristina Garcia (D-Bell Gardens), Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) and Miguel Santiago (D-Los Angeles), which establishes a landmark program to measure and combat air pollution at the neighborhood level – in communities most impacted.

Earlier today, Governor Brown signed AB 398 by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) – part of the legislative package announced with AB 617 – to improve and extend the state’s world-leading cap-and-trade program by 10 years until 2030 and help ensure California continues to meet its ambitious climate change goals.
