Governor Brown Issues Proclamation Declaring Special Election for 51st Assembly District

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today issued a proclamation declaring a special election for the 51st Assembly District of the State of California on December 5, 2017. The primary for this special election will be held on October 3, 2017.

The text of the proclamation is below:

SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

I, EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim and order that a special election shall be held on the 5th day of December, 2017, within the 51st Assembly District of the State, to fill the vacancy of the office of State Assembly Member from that district resulting from the resignation of Assembly Member Jimmy Gomez.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 24th day of July 2017.
