SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Ruth Atkins, 32, of Redding, has been appointed to the Collateral Recovery Disciplinary Review Committee. Atkins has been a community development coordinator at the Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency since 2016, where she was a public health program and policy analyst in 2016 and a community education specialist from 2013 to 2016. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Atkins is a Republican.
Darrel Woo, 64, of Sacramento, has been appointed to the Collateral Recovery Disciplinary Review Committee. Woo served as a senior attorney at the California Department of Insurance from 1999 to 2014, a staff counsel at the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Division of Fairs and Expositions from 1996 to 1999 and as an energy facility siting planner at the California Energy Commission from 1975 to 1996. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Woo is a Democrat.
Leticia Alejandrez, 57, of West Sacramento, has been appointed to the Private Investigator Disciplinary Review Committee. Alejandrez has been a director of communications for the California Endowment since 2013. She was an executive director for the California Family Resource Association from 2005 to 2012, a program director for the Foundation Consortium for California’s Children and Youth from 1999 to 2005, an associate consultant for the California School Boards Association from 1991 to 1997 and a committee consultant for the California State Assembly from 1989 to 1991. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Alejandrez is a Democrat.
Gary Davis, 43, of Elk Grove, has been appointed to the Private Investigator Disciplinary Review Committee. Davis has been director at the California Charter Schools Association since 2013. He was mayor of the City of Elk Grove from 2006 to 2016, a political director at EdVoice from 2008 to 2011, director at the California State University, Sacramento Alumni Association from 2004 to 2008 and a legislative director in the Office of California State Assemblymember Darrell Steinberg from 2000 to 2004. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Davis is a Democrat.
Collin Wong, 59, of Orinda, has been appointed to the Private Investigator Disciplinary Review Committee. Wong has been a qualified manager and vice president at Star Protection Agency since 2009 and a qualified manager at AS Solution North America since 2013 and at Collin Wong Investigations since 2009. He was a labor compliance investigator for the Northern California Carpenters Regional Council from 2008 to 2009, a task force officer for the U.S. Secret Service’s San Francisco Electronic Crimes Task Force from 2002 to 2007 and an officer at the Oakland Police Department from 1982 to 2008. Wong is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Wong is a Democrat.
