WASHINGTON, D.C. – As leaders convene for the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. will participate in panel discussions on Thursday in Washington, D.C. hosted by the Atlantic Council and Global Zero focused on how to reduce the threats posed by nuclear weapons.
Earlier this year, Governor Brown joined former U.S. Secretary of State George Shultz and former U.S. Secretary of Defense William Perry to help unveil the latest Doomsday Clock from the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, which represents a metaphorical countdown to possible global catastrophe. Earlier this week, Governor Brown joined dozens of global leaders to sign on to a letter calling on all nations “to take action to prevent nuclear terrorism and a new arms race.”
