SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Tyrone Anthony Evans, 56, of San Francisco, has been appointed to the 1a District Agricultural Association, Grand National Rodeo, Cow Palace Fair Board of Directors. Evans has been a superintendent at Rudolph and Sletten since 2015. He was a project executive at the Baines Group Incorporated from 2010 to 2015, owner at Statewide Concrete Pumping Inc. from 1994 to 2010 and a superintendent at the Turner Construction Company from 1983 to 1994. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Evans is registered without party preference.
Timothy Sands, 57, of Auburn, has been reappointed to the 20th District Agricultural Association, Gold Country Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2012. Sands has served as a deputy district attorney at the Placer County District Attorney’s Office since 1985. He is a member of the Placer Community Foundation Board of Directors and the Placer County Law Library Board of Trustees. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Sands is a Republican.
Michael Cullinan, 67, of Hollister, has been appointed to the 33rd District Agricultural Association, San Benito County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2007. He has been owner at Cullinan Appraisal and Realty since 1994. Cullinan is a member of the Appraisal Institute, California Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and Rotary International. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Cullinan is a Republican.
Anne Hall, 52, of Hollister, has been appointed to the 33rd District Agricultural Association, San Benito County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2007. She has been principal engineer at San Benito Engineering and Surveying since 2005, where she was a civil design engineer from 1995 to 2000. Hall was an engineering instructor at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo from 1993 to 1994 and served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 to 1992. She is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, Rotary International and the Association of San Benito County Contractors. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Hall is a Republican.
Paul Rovella, 39, of Hollister, has been reappointed to the 33rd District Agricultural Association, San Benito County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2012. Rovella has been a partner at L+G LLP since 2012, where he was an associate from 2006 to 2011. He is a member of the Grower-Shipper Association of the Central Coast and the San Benito County Farm Bureau. Rovella is a past chair of the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Rutgers School of Law, Camden. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Rovella is a Republican.
Ronald Rodrigues, 83, of Hollister, has been appointed to the 33rd District Agricultural Association, San Benito County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2007. He was a member of the San Benito County Board of Supervisors from 1994 to 2002, a supervisor at the California Employment Development Department from 1961 to 1991 and a rancher and farmer from 1958 to 1990. He is a member of the San Benito County Saddle Horse Association, San Benito County Cattlemen’s Association and the San Benito County Fish and Game Association. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Rodrigues is a Republican.
Vicky Banaga, 58, of Le Grand, has been reappointed to the 35th District Agricultural Association, Merced County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2015. Banaga has been chief business official for the Le Grand Union Elementary School District since 1977. She is a member of the Le Grand Beautification Committee and the Merced County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Banaga is a Democrat.
Emily Haden, 34, of Merced, has been reappointed to the 35th District Agricultural Association, Merced County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2012. Haden has been an owner at the Haden Law Office since 2014, where she has been an attorney since 2010 and was a legal assistant from 2009 to 2010. She was a legal assistant at the Merced County District Attorney’s Office from 2009 to 2010, a certified law student in the Misdemeanor Unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of California from 2008 to 2009 and a legal assistant at Robert T. Haden PC in 2007. Haden was a customer service representative at the Merced Irrigation District in 2006. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Lee Lor, 33, of Merced, has been reappointed to the 35th District Agricultural Association, Merced County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2013. Lor has been executive director at the Merced County Education Foundation since 2014, an assistant to the superintendent and a community liaison in the Office of the Merced County Superintendent of Schools since 2012 and an independent consultant since 2011. She was a domestic violence and sexual assault victim advocate at the Merced Valley Crisis Center from 2010 to 2011 and executive secretary at the Merced County Office of Education from 2008 to 2011, where she was a secretary from 2004 to 2008. She was a youth accountability board social investigator at the Merced County Probation Office from 2005 to 2006. Lor earned a Master of Business Administration degree from California State University, Fresno. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lor is a Democrat.
Santokh Takhar, 79, of Hilmar, has been appointed to the 35th District Agricultural Association, Merced County Fair Board of Directors. Takhar has been an independent veterinarian and owner at T-T Ranches since 1963. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, California Farm Bureau and the Blue Diamond Almond Growers. Jamie Traynham, 46, of Maxwell, has been reappointed to the 44th District Agricultural Association, Colusa County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2006. Traynham has been an independent accounting and booking consultant since 1998. She was an agent at the New York Life Insurance Company from 2005 to 2007, a controller at California Family Foods from 1995 to 1998 and an agricultural loan officer at Farm Credit Services of Colusa-Glenn from 1991 to 1995.
