Governor Brown Issues Legislative Update

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced that he has signed the following bills.

• AB 924 by Assemblymember Ken Cooley (D-Rancho Cordova) – Personal income tax: voluntary contributions: State Children’s Trust Fund.
• AB 1191 by Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian (D-Sherman Oaks) – Quimby Act: fees.
• AB 1195 by Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas (D-Los Angeles) – California Debt Limit Allocation Committee: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
• SB 328 by Senator Ben Hueso (D-San Diego) – Landlords: notice of pesticide use.
• SB 352 by Senator Marty Block (D-San Diego) – Elder abuse.
• SB 408 by Senator Mike L. Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga) – Midwife assistants.
• SB 561 by Senator William W. Monning (D-Carmel) – Contractors: home improvement salespersons.
• SB 600 by Senator Richard Pan (D-Sacramento) – Discrimination: citizenship: language: immigration status.
• SB 730 by Senator Lois Wolk (D-Davis) – Railroads: movement of freight: trains or light engines: crew size.

Governor Brown also announced that he has vetoed the following bills.

• AB 272 by Assemblymember Tom W. Lackey (R-Palmdale) – California Fair Employment and Housing Act: reserve peace officers. A veto message can be found here.
