Governor Brown Announces Appointments

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.

Marko Mijic, 28, of West Sacramento, has been appointed assistant secretary for program and fiscal affairs at the California Health and Human Services Agency. Mijic has been manager of licensing and new ventures at the American Heart Association since 2014, where he was a manager of government relations from 2013 to 2014. He served as a special assistant at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from 2011 to 2013, where he was a senior staff assistant from 2009 to 2011. Mijic was a graduate fellow for the Pew Charitable Trusts Children’s Dental Campaign in 2009 and was a staff assistant at the University of Utah, Hinckley Institute of Politics from 2008 to 2009. He served as a member of the Utah Commission on Service and Volunteerism from 2006 to 2009. Mijic earned a Master of Public Policy degree from the American University School of Public Affairs in Washington, D.C. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $105,000. Mijic is a Democrat.

Lori Delagrammatikas, 59, of Riverside, has been appointed adult protective services program liaison at the California Department of Social Services. Delagrammatikas has been a program manager at the Academy for Professional Excellence since 2006. She was an adult services program specialist at the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services from 1999 to 2006, where she served in several positions from 1991 to 1999, including social service worker and Medi-Cal eligibility technician. Delagrammatikas was a social service worker at the Riverside County Office on Aging in 1999. She is the western regional representative for the National Adult Protective Services Association and a member of the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the California Elder Justice Coalition Steering Committee. Delagrammatikas earned a Master of Social Work degree from Loma Linda University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $91,104. Delagrammatikas is Democrat.

Alexander Kim, 42, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California Naturopathic Medicine Committee. Kim has been a community relations manager at the Southern California Gas Company since 2011. He was a deputy director and community liaison in the Los Angeles Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger from 2004 to 2010 and central area director and liaison to the Asian Pacific community in the Office of Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn from 2001 to 2004. Kim is president of the U.C. Irvine Korean American Alumni Association and a member of the Orange County District Attorney’s Korean-American Advisory Commission, Korean American Coalition of Los Angeles Advisory Board and the Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce, Orange County Board of Directors. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Kim is a Republican.
