Governor Brown Announces Appointments

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.

Samuel Llamas Jr., 36, of Redding, has been appointed to the 27th District Agricultural Association, Shasta District Fair Board of Directors. Llamas has served as a police officer at the Redding Police Department since 2006. He was an advisor for educational talent search for California State University, Chico from 2002 to 2006. Llamas was a secondary school advisor and instructional aide for Region 2 of the U.S. Department of Education Migrant Education Program from 1998 to 2002. He is a member of the Redding Peace Officers’ Association. Llamas earned a Master of Public Administration degree from California State University, Chico. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Llamas is a Democrat.

Alan Ernesto Phillips, 59, of Redding, has been appointed to the 27th District Agricultural Association, Shasta District Fair Board of Directors. Phillips was a founding board member and chair at the Northern Hispanic Latino Coalition from 2000 to 2013, a parenting education facilitator at Shasta County Chemical People Inc. from 1999 to 2009 and senior producer and director at TCI media Services from 1996 to 1998. He was production manager, producer and director at KIXE-TV from 1995 to 1996. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Phillips is a Democrat.
