Governor Brown Announces Appointments

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.

Kathleen Gallegos, 65, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California Arts Council. She has been director of Avenue 50 Studio Inc. since 2000 and an independent artist since 1992. Gallegos was a legal secretary at Stutman Treister and Glatt from 1987 to 2002. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Gallegos is a Democrat.

Jaime Galli, 34, of San Francisco, has been appointed to the California Arts Council. Galli has been digital marketing manager at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art since 2014. She was senior marketing and communication manager for the San Francisco Film Society from 2011 to 2014, a graduate teaching and research fellow at the University of Oregon from 2010 to 2011 and outreach and communications coordinator at the Eugene Opera from 2009 to 2011. Galli was associate director of development for the Santa Barbara Choral Society from 2008 to 2009 and administrative coordinator and advisor at the San Francisco State University, School of Music and Dance from 2005 to 2008. Galli earned a Master of Science degree in arts management from the University of Oregon. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Galli is a Democrat.

Nashormeh Lindo, 61, of Oakland, has been appointed to the California Arts Council. Lindo has been an independent arts educator, museum consultant and curator since 1996 and an independent artist since 1976. She was an instructor of African American art history at the City College of San Francisco from 2008 to 2013, manager of educational programs at the New York Public Library Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture from 1990 to 1995 and coordinator of community services at the Baltimore Museum of Art from 1986 to 1990. Lindo was a fellow in Arts Management at the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts from 1984 to 1985. She is a trustee emeritus at the Brandywine Offset Institute. Lindo earned a Master of Science degree in museum education from the Bank Street College of Education. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Lindo is a Democrat.
