SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Frank Lima, 42, of Camarillo, has been appointed to the California State Board of Fire Services. Lima is a fire captain at the Los Angeles Fire Department, where he has served in several positions since 1992, including brush inspector, apparatus operator and firefighter. He is president of the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City, Council District 8, vice president of the California Professional Firefighters and a member of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor Executive Board. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lima is registered without party preference.
Chuck Supple, 56, of Sacramento, has been appointed to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Board of Parole Hearings, Juvenile Division, where he served from 2003 to 2006. Supple has been a parole agent at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Juvenile Justice since 2010, where he held several positions from 2006 to 2010, including executive officer of the Board of Parole Hearings, Juvenile Division and youthful offender hearing representative. Supple was executive director of the California Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism from 2000 to 2003 and chief executive officer of Public Allies Inc. from 1995 to 2000. He was director of nonprofit outreach at the Corporation for National Service from 1994 to 1995 and vice president of youth programs at the Points of Light Foundation from 1991 to 1993, serving as a senior executive on loan to the White House Office of National Service in 1993. Supple was executive director of the California Campus Compact at the University of California, Los Angeles from 1988 to 1991. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $117,504. Supple is a Democrat.
