Governor Brown Announces Appointments

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.

Connie Williams, 63, of Petaluma, has been appointed to the California Library Services Board. Williams has been a teacher librarian at Petaluma High School since 2008. She was a teacher librarian at Kenilworth Junior High School from 1989 to 2008. Williams is co-chair of the American Library Association Government Information for Children Committee and a member of the American Library Association Office for Information Technology Policy Advisory Committee, the National Council for the Social Studies, the California Council for the Social Studies and the California School Library Association, where she was president from 2005 to 2006. Williams was chair of the American Association of School Librarians Legislation Committee from 2011 to 2012. She earned a Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Williams is a Democrat.

Kris Anderson, 46, of Santa Maria, has been appointed to Area Board IX of the State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Anderson has been a staff member at Achievement House Inc. since 2014. She was a quality assurance representative at United Cerebral Palsy Work Inc. from 2007 to 2014. Anderson is president of the Santa Maria Chapter of People First and a member of United Cerebral Palsy of San Luis Obispo. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Anderson is a Democrat.
