SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Danjel Bout, 41, of Cool, has been appointed assistant director of response at the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. Bout has been strategic plans branch chief at the California National Guard since 2013, where he has been military liaison to the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services since 2012 and has served in several positions since 2004, including battalion operations officer, federal legislative liaison officer, company commander and battalion logistics officer. He was exercise evaluator at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Inspector General’s California Office of Homeland Security from 2006 to 2007 and a critical infrastructure analyst at the California Anti-Terrorism Information Center from 2003 to 2004. Bout has served on active reserve in the U.S. Army National Guard since 1998 and served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1997 to 1998 and on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1994 to 1997. He is a member of the International Association of Emergency Managers, the National Emergency Management Association, the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Bout earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in organizational psychology from Walden University and a Master of Arts degree in psychology from the University of California, Davis. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $119,796. Bout is registered without party preference.
Kevin Sherin, 62, of Orlando, Florida, has been appointed deputy director of the Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the California Department of Public Health. Sherin has served as director and health officer at the Florida Department of Health in Orange County since 2004. He was family medicine residency director at the Advocate Christ Medical Center from 1994 to 2004 and executive director at the DuPage County Health Department from 1993 to 1994 and at the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services County Public Health Units from 1988 to 1993. Sherin was assistant chairman for clinical programs in family practice at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center and medical director of employee health at the Christ Hospital from 1984 to 1988. He is a member of the National Association of County and City Health Officials Board of Directors, the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, American Association of Public Health Physicians, Orange County Medical Society, Florida Public Health Association and the American College of Preventive Medicine. Sherin earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Management, a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $176,136. Sherin is registered without party preference.
Laura Lee Corrodi, 29, of Ventura, has been appointed to Area Board IX of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Corrodi was a courtesy clerk at Ralphs from 2008 to 2011. She is president of the Aktion Club and a member of the Arc of Ventura County Board of Directors. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Corrodi is registered without party preference.
Jesus Dominguez, 52, of Santa Clarita, has been appointed to the Physical Therapy Board of California. Dominguez has been an assistant professor of clinical physical therapy and director of admissions at the University of Southern California Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy since 2004. He was a research associate at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine from 2007 to 2010, an assistant professor at California State University, Los Angeles from 2002 to 2004 and an adjunct assistant professor of clinical physical therapy at the University of Southern California from 1998 to 2004, where he was an adjunct lecturer of clinical physical therapy from 1993 to 1996. Dominguez was a physical therapist at Keck Hospital of the University of Southern California from 1996 to 1998 and senior physical therapist at JDC Cardiovascular Services from 1993 to 1996 and at Blessey Physical Therapy Services from 1988 to 1993. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the California Physical Therapy Association. Dominguez earned Doctor of Philosophy in biokinesiology and Master of Science in physical therapy degrees from the University of Southern California. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Dominguez is a Republican.
Cynthia Ann Lloyd, 37, of Blythe, has been appointed to the 54th District Agricultural Association, Colorado River Fair Board of Directors. Lloyd has been an owner and secretary at Extreme Auto Body since 2006. She was a pharmacy technician and manager at Blythe Drug Co. from 1993 to 2006. Lloyd is a member of the Palo Verde Saddle Stompers 4-H Club. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lloyd is a Republican.
Jennifer Loredo, 34, of Riverside, has been appointed to the California Veterinary Medical Board. Loredo has been the supervising registered veterinary technician at the Riverside County Department of Animal Services since 2005. She was a registered veterinary technician at Advanced Critical Care and Internal Medicine from 2004 to 2005 and at the Animal Hospital of Walnut from 2001 to 2004. Loredo was a patient relations representative at Magan Medical Clinic from 1997 to 2003. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Loredo is registered without party preference.
Judith Manzi, 61, of Santa Cruz, has been appointed to the California Board of Podiatric Medicine. Manzi has been senior physician at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center since 2001, where she was a staff physician from 1998 to 2001. She was a podiatrist in private practice at the Sunnyvale Foot and Ankle Center from 1984 to 1998 and chairman of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine Department of Surgery from 1982 to 1984. Manzi earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Manzi is a Democrat.
Jethroe Moore II, 55, of San Jose, has been reappointed to the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, where he has served since 2013. Moore has been a school community specialist for the East Side Union High School District since 2004. He was assistant pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church from 2001 to 2004 and held several positions at the United Parcel Service from 1978 to 2000, including driver and supervisor. He is president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, San Jose Silicon Valley Branch and a member of the San Jose Police Chief’s Community Advisory Board. This position requires Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Moore is a Democrat.
