MEXICO CITY – On the second full day of California’s Trade and Investment Mission to Mexico, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. and Archbishop of Los Angeles José H. Gomez convened religious and diplomatic leaders from Mexico and Central America for a wide-ranging discussion on immigration reform and the influx of unaccompanied children migrating to the United States.
“I want to thank all the bishops and the ambassadors from Central America who joined in this meeting to discuss this very serious humanitarian challenge,” said Governor Brown. “The problems of the border can’t be solved at the border alone and political divisions will not be a source of solutions.”
