SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Sandra Samaniego, 54, of Sacramento, has been appointed senior labor relations officer at the California Department of Human Resources. Samaniego has been a labor relations manager at the California Department of Motor Vehicles since 2013. She was a labor relations manager at California Correctional Health Care Services in 2013 and a labor relations specialist at the California Department of Transportation from 2005 to 2013 and at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from 2000 to 2005. Samaniego was an associate governmental program analyst at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from 1996 to 2000 and at the California Department of Justice from 1994 to 1996. She served as associate governmental program analyst at the California Department of Health Care Services from 1991 to 1994, where she was a staff services analyst from 1989 to 1991. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $91,248. Samaniego is a Democrat.
Candace Hyatt, 30, of Sacramento, has been appointed labor relations officer at the California Department of Human Resources, where she has been a labor relations specialist since 2014 and was a personnel management consultant from 2013 to 2014. Hyatt was a labor relations officer at the California Department of Transportation from 2009 to 2013, a personnel management analyst at the California Public Employees’ Retirement System from 2008 to 2009 and a personnel analyst at the California Department of Pesticide Regulation from 2006 to 2008. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $83,064. Hyatt is a Democrat.
David M. Shary, 31, of Sacramento, has been appointed labor relations officer at the California Department of Human Resources. Shary has been a labor relations specialist at the California Department of General Services since 2012. He was a labor relations analyst at the California Department of Fish and Game from 2011 to 2012, a labor relations representative at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from 2008 to 2011 and a business and consumer sales consultant at Apple Inc. from 2004 to 2007. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $83,064. Shary is a Democrat.
