Governor and First Lady Honor Spc. Terry J. Hurne

SACRAMENTO – On behalf of all Californians, Governor Brown and First Lady Anne Gust Brown honor Spc. Terry J. Hurne, who bravely gave his life in service to our state and nation. The Governor and First Lady extend their deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

In memorial, Governor Brown ordered that flags be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol. Spc. Hurne’s family will receive a letter of condolence from the Governor.

Spc. Terry J. Hurne, 34, of Merced, CA, died June 9, in Logar province, Afghanistan from a non-combat related injury. He was assigned to the 710th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY. Spc. Hurne was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
