SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Eric Hammer, 45, of Brookdale, has been appointed to the 14th District Agricultural Association, Santa Cruz County Fair Board of Directors. Hammer has been the owner and chief executive officer of Eric Hammer Construction since 2004. He was project superintendent at Hochler Construction from 2005 to 2006 and at Clearwater Construction from 2002 to 2005 and subcontractor supervisor at Vic Brooks Construction from 1991 to 2000. Hammer is a member of the Community Bridges Board of Directors and of the Redwood Mountain Faire Steering Committee. He is vice president of the Boulder Creek Business Association, where he served as president from 2010 to 2013, and a state delegate for the Santa Cruz Democratic Central Committee. Hammer was chair of Community Bridges’ Mountain Community Resources from 2009 to 2011 and of the Boulder Creek Recreation and Parks District Board of Directors in 2005 and 2008. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Hammer is a Democrat.
David Lafferty, 59, of Hanford, has been appointed to the 24a District Agricultural Association, Kings Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2005. Lafferty has been owner of the J and D Painting Company since 2007 and was a project manager at the J and D Painting and Drywall Company from 1973 to 2007. Lafferty is a lifetime charter member of the Hanford High School Future Farmers of America, a member of the Kings Fair Boosters and the Kings County 4-H and an advisor to the Kings Junior Fair Board. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lafferty is a Republican.
William Parry, 41, of Lemoore, has been appointed to the 24a District Agriculture Association, Kings Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2003. Parry has been managing shareholder of the Hammerschmidt Broughton Law Corporation, South Valley Office since 2013. He was a litigator for Kahn Soares and Conway LLP from 2001 to 2013. Parry is a member of the Lemoore High School Foundation for Educational Excellence Board and the United Way of Kings County Board of Directors. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the San Joaquin College of Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Parry is a Democrat.
Samuel Rodriguez, 40, of Hanford, has been appointed to the 24a District Agricultural Association, Kings Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2008. Rodriguez has been an agriculture teacher and Agriculture Department chair for the Hanford Joint Union High School District since 2005. He was an agriculture teacher for the Corcoran Joint Union School District from 1995 to 2005. Rodriguez is a member of the Professional Latin American Association of Kings County, the Kings County Farm Bureau, the Elbow Creek Grange, the California Agriculture Teachers’ Association and the California Teachers Association. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Rodriguez is registered without a party preference.
Loretta Toledo, 61, of Hanford, has been appointed to the 24a District Agricultural Association, Kings Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2005. Toledo was an office worker at Vierra Electric from 2004 to 2011 and owner and partner at T and T Dairy from 1975 to 2004. Toledo is a member of California Women for Ag, the Kings Fair Boosters, the Kings Junior Fair Board and Kings County 4-H. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Toledo is a Republican.
Mark Trezza, 48, of Hanford, has been reappointed to the 24a District Agricultural Association, Kings County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2012. Trezza has been a community college instructor at Fresno City College since 2004. He was district director and field representative for California State Assemblymember Nicole Parra from 2003 to 2004, field representative for California State Senator Jim Costa from 1997 to 1998 and a teacher and learning clinician at Learning Time from 1990 to 1994. Trezza earned a Master of Arts degree in government from California State University, Sacramento. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Trezza is a Democrat.
