Governor Brown Issues Statement on Death of Los Angeles Police Officer

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today issued the following statement regarding the death of Los Angeles Police Department Officer Nicholas Lee.

“Anne and I were saddened to learn of the death of Officer Lee, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his community. We extend our sympathies to Officer Lee’s friends, family and colleagues as they mourn this tragic loss.”

Officer Lee, 40, of La Crescenta, died in a collision this morning on Loma Vista Drive near Doheny Road in Beverly Hills.

Officer Lee was a field training officer in the Hollywood Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, where he had served for 16 years.

Officer Lee is survived by his wife, two daughters and his parents.

In honor of Officer Lee, Capitol flags will be flown at half-staff.
