Governor Brown Announces Appointments

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.

William Chadwick, 65, of Malibu, has been reappointed to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission, where has served since 2011 and served from 2001 to 2008. Chadwick has been managing director at Chadwick Saylor and Co. Inc. since 1985 and held multiple positions at Paul Hastings Janofsky and Walker from 1973 to 1985, including partner, of counsel and associate. Chadwick is a member of the Exposition Park Management-California Science Center Board of Directors, where he served as chair from 2002 to 2005 and from 2007 to 2009. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University Law School. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Chadwick is registered without party preference.

Rowena T. Libang-Bobila, 47, of Walnut Creek, has been appointed to the California Lottery Commission. Libang-Bobila has been principal attorney at the Rowena T. Libang Law Offices since 2010. She served in multiple positions at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office Children and Family Services Division from 1995 to 2010, including lead trial attorney. She was an immigration caseworker in the Office of U.S. Senator Alan Cranston from 1991 to 1992 and was a member of the Coro Foundation Fellowship in Public Affairs from 1990 to 1991. Libang-Bobila is a member of the California Minority Counsel Program, the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area, and the Filipino-American Bar Association of Northern California. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from University of California, Hastings School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Libang-Bobila is registered without party preference.

Joseph Provenzano, 58, of Modesto, has been appointed to the California Healthcare Workforce Policy Commission. Provenzano has been a doctor at the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation since 1990. He is the national chair and a voting delegate at the Federation of State Medical Boards, a member of the legislative committee at the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California and the former vice-president of the Osteopathic Medical Board of California. Provenzano is a voting delegate of the California Medical Association’s House of Delegates, an academy voting delegate at the California Academy of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine. He earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Provenzano is registered without party preference.
