SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Lois Merriweather Moore, 67, of Novato has been reappointed to the 4th District Agricultural Association, Sonoma-Marin Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2013. Moore has been a substitute teacher for the Sausalito Marin City School District since 2007 and adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco since 2003. She was a consultant for the United Negro College Fund, Gates Millennium Scholars Program from 2004 to 2011. Moore was a teacher for the Novato Unified School District from 1973 to 2002. She earned a Doctor of Education degree in international and multicultural education from the University of San Francisco and a Master of Arts degree in education from Sonoma State University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Moore is a Democrat.
Don Ales, 56, of Auburn, has been appointed to the 20th District Agricultural Association, Gold Country Fair Board of Directors. Ales has been a realtor at River Ridge Realty since 2012 and owner and operator of Sierra Steam-Way since 1990. He was a sales manager at BASF from 1979 to 1990. Ales is a member of Leadership Auburn and the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Ales is a Republican.
June Reeves, 72, of Lincoln, has been reappointed to the 20th District Agricultural Association, Gold Country Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2012. Reeves was an executive and legislative coordinator at Green and Azevedo from 1985 to 2007. She was a legal secretary at Blackmon Isenberg Moulds Blicker Wasserman Samuel and Rodda from 1969 to 1984. Reeves is an officer for the Sierra College Patrons and a docent and member of the Lincoln Archives Museum. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Reeves is a Democrat.
Jorge Lomeli, 41, of Corning, has been reappointed to the 30th District Agricultural Association, Tehama District Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2013. Lomeli has held multiple positions at Bell-Carter Olive Co. since 1993, including lead mechanic and mechanic. He is a volunteer equipment captain at the Corning Rural Fire Department. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Lomeli is a Democrat.
Stan Pura, 57, of Hollister, has been reappointed to the 33rd District Agricultural Association, San Benito County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2012. Pura has been managing partner at Mission Ranches since 1985. He is a member of the North County Joint Union School District Board, the San Benito County Farm Bureau and the Western Growers Association. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Pura is a Republican.
