Governor Brown Appoints Elizabeth M. Hill to San Mateo County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Elizabeth M. Hill to a judgeship in the San Mateo County Superior Court.

Hill, 38, of Redwood City, has been a part-time commissioner at the Santa Clara County Superior Court since 2013. She served as a commissioner at the San Mateo County Superior Court from 2010 to 2013 and was an attorney in private practice in 2010. Hill served as a deputy district attorney at the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office from 2000 to 2010. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School and Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Case Western Reserve University. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge H. James Ellis. Hill is a Democrat.

The compensation for this position is $181, 292.
