Governor Brown Appoints John C. Cope to Contra Costa County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of John C. Cope to a judgeship in the Contra Costa County Superior Court.

Cope, 50, of Benicia, has been a deputy district attorney at the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office since 1991. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Joyce M. Cram. Cope is a Republican.

The compensation for this position is $181, 292.
