Governor Brown Appoints Lawrence E. Ornell to Sonoma County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Lawrence E. Ornell to a judgeship in the Sonoma County Superior Court.

Ornell, 52, of Santa Rosa, has served as a commissioner at the Sonoma County Superior Court since 2004. He served as a deputy district attorney at the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office from 1993 to 2004 and was an attorney in private practice from 1991 to 1993. Ornell earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Empire College School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Sacramento. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Mark Tansil. Ornell is a Democrat.

The compensation for this position is $181, 292.
