SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments
Steve Bestolarides, 57, of Stockton, has been appointed to the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley. Bestolarides has served as supervisor for San Joaquin County’s 3rd District since 2009 and was a councilmember at the City of Stockton City Council from 2003 to 2008. He was a general manager at the Eagle’s Nest Harley-Davidson Dealership from 2004 to 2006 and held multiple positions at Washington Mutual Bank from 1981 to 2004, including vice president of construction and development. Bestolarides is chairman of the San Joaquin General Hospital Interim Board of Trustees and the San Joaquin County Employees’ Retirement Association Board of Supervisors. He served on the Stockton Planning Commission from 1994 to 2002 and is a member of the Woodbridge Masonic Lodge, Stockton Scottish Rite, 32nd degree and the Ben Ali Shriners. Bestolarides earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the National University School of Business and Management. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Bestolarides is a Republican.
Lee Ann Eager, 57, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley. Eager has been president and chief executive officer at the Economic Development Corporation serving Fresno County since 2009. She was an attorney at Lang Richert and Patch from 2005 to 2009. Eager was executive director at Rape Counseling Service of Fresno from 1988 to 2000. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Eager is a Democrat.
Bryn Forhan, 54, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley. Forhan has been owner of the Forhan Company since 2002. She was vice president of government and community relations at Community Medical Centers Inc. from 1995 to 2002 and was district chief of staff for California State Assemblymember Jim Costa from 1991 to 1994. Forhan is co-chair of the Valley Coalition for University of California, Merced Medical School. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Forhan is a Democrat.
Patrick Gordon, 61, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, where he has served since 2010. Gordon has been a human resources manager at the JBT Food Tech Canning Division since 2007. He was a human resource business partner at Children’s Hospital, Central California from 2006 to 2007 and director of human resources at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno from 1997 to 2006. Gordon was director of staff relations at Delano Regional Medical Center from 1995 to 1997 and director of human resources at Standard Rent-A-Car in San Francisco from 1994 to 1995. He was director of human resources at the San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital from 1990 to 1994 and a senior recruiter at the Community Hospitals of Central California from 1987 to 1990. Gordon is a member of the Central California Society for Human Resource Management and the Knights of Columbus. He earned a Master of Arts degree in pastoral theology from Saint Joseph’s College. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Gordon is a Republican.
Blake Konczal, 48, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, where he has served since 2010. Konczal has been executive director at the Fresno Regional Workforce Investment Board since 2002. He was executive director at the City of San Jose/Silicon Valley Workforce Investment Board from 1999 to 2002. Konczal held multiple positions at the South Bay Private Industry Council from 1992 to 1999, including deputy director and case worker. He was a management analyst at Hand and Associates from 1991 to 1992. Konczal earned a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School and a Master of Arts in political science from California State University, Fullerton. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Konczal is a Republican.
