SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Steven Lapham to a judgeship in the Sacramento County Superior Court.
Lapham, 60, of Gold River, has served as an assistant U.S. attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of California since 1984, where he has served as chief of the Special Prosecutions Unit since 2010. He was an associate at Thornton Taylor and Downs from 1980 to 1983 and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Roger G. Connor of the Alaska Supreme Court from 1979 to 1980. Lapham earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Brian Van Camp. Lapham is a Democrat.
