Governor Brown Announces Appointments

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.

Eduardo Angeles, 48, of Pasadena, has been appointed to the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Angeles has been senior assistant city attorney at the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office since 2002. He served in multiple positions at the Office of the City Attorney, City and County of San Francisco from 1991 to 2002, including chief attorney of public protection and deputy city attorney. Angeles earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is a member of the University of California, Santa Barbara Alumni Association. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Angeles is a Democrat.

Vivien Avella, 46, of Calabasas, has been appointed to the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Avella was senior managing director at FTI Consulting Inc. from 2000 to 2003 and director at Ernst & Young LLP from 1997 to 2000. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Avella is registered decline-to-state.

Tammy Endozo, 43, of Imperial Beach, has been appointed to the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Endozo has served as a licensed vocational nurse at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility since 2006. She was a licensed vocational nurse at Scripps Mercy Hospital from 2003 to 2011 and a residential care unit leader and licensed vocational nurse at the Veterans Home of California, Chula Vista from 2000 to 2006. Endozo was a licensed vocational nurse at the University Community Medical Center in San Diego from 1998 to 2004, at the County of San Diego, Edgemoor Hospital from 1998 to 2000 and at Friendship Manor Lakeside Nursing Home from 1996 to 2000. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Endozo is a Democrat.

Samantha James-Perez, 39, of Chino Hills, has been appointed to the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. James-Perez has served in multiple positions at Pacific Clinics since 1998, including licensed psychiatric technician, psychiatric technician-licensed vocational nurse education coordinator and medication services supervisor. James-Perez was a licensed psychiatric technician at the Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center from 2003 to 2006, at Canyon Ridge Hospital from 1997 to 2001 and at the American Recovery Center from 1997 to 1998. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. James-Perez is registered decline-to-state.
