SACRAMENTO – On behalf of all Californians, Governor Brown and First Lady Anne Gust Brown honor Lt. Cmdr. Landon L. Jones, who bravely gave his life in service to our state and nation. The Governor and First Lady extend their deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.
In memorial, Governor Brown ordered that flags be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol today. Lt. Cmdr. Jones’ family will receive a letter of condolence from the Governor.

Lt. Cmdr. Landon L. Jones, 35, of Lompoc, CA, died September 22, of injuries sustained in a MH-60S Knighthawk helicopter crash while operating in the central Red Sea. He was assigned to the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Six at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, CA. Lt. Cmdr. Jones was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
