SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today issued a proclamation declaring a special election for the 52nd Assembly District of the State of California on September 24, 2013. The primary for this special election will be held on July 23, 2013.

SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION
BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
I, EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim and order that a special election shall be held on the 24th day of September, 2013, within the 52nd Assembly District of the State to fill the vacancy of the office of State Assembly Member from that district resulting from the resignation of Assembly Member Norma Torres.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 21st day of May 2013.
