Governor and First Lady Honor Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney

SACRAMENTO – On behalf of all Californians, Governor Brown and First Lady Anne Gust Brown honor Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney, who bravely gave her life in service to our state and nation. The Governor and First Lady extend their deepest condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time.

In memorial, Governor Brown ordered that flags be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol today. Capt. Pinckney’s family will receive a letter of condolence from the Governor.

Capt. Victoria A. Pinckney, 27, of Palmdale, CA, died May 3, near Chon-Aryk, Kyrgyzstan, in the crash of a KC-135 aircraft. She was assigned to the 93rd Air Refueling Squadron, Fairchild Air Force Base, WA. Pinckney was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
