SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Christopher Coppola, 51, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California Arts Council. Coppola has been owner and executive producer at Plaster City Productions Inc. and Christopher Coppola Enterprises since 1994 and director since 1987. He is founder of Project Accessible Hollywood. Coppola is a member the Independent Film Committee of the Directors Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Coppola is a Democrat.
Katie Dawson, 66, of Oakland, has been appointed to the Dental Board of California. Dawson has been a dental hygienist at Dahab Gaime, D.D.S since 2009. She served as a field specialist with the University of California, Field Office from 2010 to 2011 and was a dental hygienist for Damani M. Mitchell D.D.S. from 2001 to 2009. Dawson was a dental hygienist for James Sweeney D.D.S. from 1995 to 2002 and dental hygienist at P. Michael Hine D.D.S. from 1991 to 2002. Judith Forsythe, 49, of Riverside, has been appointed to the Dental Board of California. Yvette Chappell-Ingram, 64, of Altadena, has been appointed to the Dental Board of California. Chappell-Ingram has been president and chief executive officer at the African American Board Leadership Institute since 2010. She was president of the California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation from 2006 to 2010, principal at Ingram and Associates from 2004 to 2008 and vice president of development at College Bound from 2001 to 2004. Chappell-Ingram served as regional manager at the United Negro College Fund from 1997 to 2001, director of development for LA’s BEST from 1995 to 1997 and a project manager at the United Negro College from 1992 to 1995. Melodi Masaniai, 48, of Salinas, has been appointed to the California Board of Podiatric Medicine.
