Governor Brown Announces Appointment

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointment.

Nancy C. Miller, 60, of Sacramento, has been appointed to the California Citizens Compensation Commission. Miller has been president and shareholder of Miller & Owen since 1992, where she was principal and shareholder from 1983 to 1991 and a partner from 1979 to 1982. She has served on the advisory committee for the Sacramento Children’s Chorus since 2010, as a board member of the California Musical Theatre since 2010 and as president of the California Commission on Autism Foundation since 2005. She is chairperson of the Judicial Selection Committee, Eastern District, where she has served since 1992 and was a member of the Civil Advisory Committee to the Sacramento County Presiding Judge from 2009 to 2012. Miller has been a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association since 1979 and was a board member of the St. Francis Preparatory High School from 2002 to 2008. She earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Miller is a Democrat.
