Governor Brown Issues Proclamation Declaring Special Election for 16th Senate District

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today issued a proclamation declaring a special election for the 16th Senate District of the State of California on July 23, 2013. The primary for this special election will be held on May 21, 2013.

SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION
BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

I, EDMUND G. BROWN JR., Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim and order that a special election shall be held on the 23rd day of July, 2013, within the 16th Senate District of the State to fill the vacancy of the office of State Senator from that district resulting from the resignation of Senator Michael Rubio.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 8th day of March, 2013.
