SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Gayle Ratliff, 61, of Tulelake, has been reappointed to the 10a District Agricultural Association, Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair Board, where she has served since 2002. Ratliff has been office manager at Orem Ranch Inc. and Go Construction LLC since 1990. She was a lab technician at the City of Tulelake, Department of Public Works from 1980 to 1994 and was assistant general manager and starch chemist at Western Polymer Corporation from 1978 to 1989. Ratliff serves as president of the Tulelake 4-H Council, where she has been a member since 1993. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Ratliff is registered decline-to-state.
Glenna Blake, 71, of Ukiah, has been reappointed to the 12th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Empire Fair Board, where she has served since 2011. She has been the marketing and planning manager at the Mendocino Transit Authority since 1994. Blake was co-manager of Willits Fitness World from 1986 to 1994. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Blake is a Democrat.
Casey Burris, 37, of Ukiah, has been reappointed to the 12th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Empire Fair Board, where he has served since 2011. He has been vice president of operations for J.A. Sutherland Inc. since 2000. Burris held multiple positions at Savings Bank of Mendocino County from 1991 to 2000, including information technology specialist, purchasing agent and vault teller. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Burris is registered decline-to-state.
Sanford Ballou, 46, of Grass Valley, has been reappointed to the 17th District Agricultural Association, Nevada County Fair Board, where he has served since 2008. Ballou has been owner of Sierra Saddlery and Mercantile since 2004 and owner of Emigrant Springs Ranch since 1997. He was manager of Big River Packing from 1993 to 1997 and produce broker, shipper and packer at Oregon Onions from 1990 to 1993. Ballou has been a member of the Nevada County Farm Bureau since 2004 and was president from 2011 to 2012. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Ballou is a Republican.
Jeanette Royal, 60, of Grass Valley, has been reappointed to the 17th District Agricultural Association, Nevada County Fair Board, where she has served since 1993. She has been a realtor at Network Real Estate since 2003. Royal was a financial consultant at A.G. Edwards and Sons from 2000 to 2003. She was a realtor associate at Alta Sierra Real Estate from 1995 to 2000. Royal was the owner and facility manager of Royal Oaks Arabians from 1982 to 1996 and was an adult education teacher for the Grant Union High School District from 1977 to 1980. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Royal is a Republican.
Cherisse Alford, 46, of El Centro, has been reappointed to the 45th District Agricultural Association, California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta Board, where she has served since 2006. Alford has been vice president at Alford Distributing Company since 1983. She is a member of the California Beer and Beverage Distributors Management Committee, El Centro Chamber of Commerce, Imperial Valley Breakfast Rotary Club and Public Relations Society of America. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Alford is a Republican.
