Governor Brown Appoints Harry L. Jacobs to Merced County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Harry L. Jacobs to a judgeship in the Merced County Superior Court.

Jacobs, 67, of Merced, was a superior court commissioner at the Merced County Superior Court from 2000 to 2011. He served as supervising deputy public defender at the Merced County Public Defender’s Office from 1989 to 2000 and a law partner and owner at Jacobs and Saude, Attorneys at Law from 1980 to 1989. Jacobs earned a Juris Doctorate degree at the Abraham Lincoln University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of San Francisco. He fills the vacancy created by the conversion of a commissioner position on January 3, 2012. Jacobs is a Democrat.

The compensation for this position is $178,789.
