Governor Brown Appoints Michael R. Deems to Butte County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Michael R. Deems to a judgeship in the Butte County Superior Court.

Deems, 59, of Chico, has served as a managing partner at the Law Offices of Deems and Keller LLP since 2002. He was an associate at Stewart Humpherys Burchett and Molin LLP from 1998 to 2002 and an associate at Sinclair and Hill from 1995 to 1998. Deems was an associate at Moss and Enochian from 1991 to 1995 and an associate at Nagle Krug and Winters from 1985 to 1991. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the California Lutheran College. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Steven J. Howell. Deems is registered decline-to-state.

The compensation for this position is $178,789.
