Governor Brown Appoints Michael S. Williams to Napa County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Michael S. Williams to a judgeship in the Napa County Superior Court.

Williams, 66, of Napa, has served as a court commissioner for the Napa County Superior Court since 2001. He was court counsel and a research attorney at the Napa County Superior Court from 1996 to 2001 and served as a deputy public defender at the Napa County Public Defender’s Office from 1986 to 1996. Williams earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Golden Gate University School of Law and a Master of Science degree and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Stephen T. Kroyer. Williams is a Democrat.

The compensation for this position is $178,789.
