Governor Brown Appoints Michael A. Knish to San Bernardino County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Michael A. Knish to a judgeship in the San Bernardino County Superior Court.

Knish, 52, of Studio City, has served as a court commissioner for the San Bernardino County Superior Court since 2003. He was a deputy public defender at the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office from 1995 to 2003. Knish was an associate attorney at the Law Office of Jimmy Gutierrez in 1995 and an associate attorney at the Law Office of Cedric Elias from 1992 to 1994. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Whittier Law School, a Master of Arts degree in English from California State University, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge W. Robert Fawke. Knish is a Democrat.

The compensation for this position is $178,789.
