Governor Brown Appoints John F. McGregor to Santa Barbara County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of John F. McGregor to a judgeship in the Santa Barbara County Superior Court.

McGregor, 58, of Arroyo Grande, has served as a court commissioner for the Santa Barbara County Superior Court since 2004. He was a sole practitioner from 1990 to 2003 and served as a partner in the North County Conflict Defense Team from 1997 to 2003. He was an associate attorney at Klein and Cutler from 1986 to 1989. McGregor was a sole practitioner from 1983 to 1986, an associate attorney at the Law Offices of Jan Mark Dudman from 1982 to 1983 and an associate attorney at Smith and Smith from 1981 to 1982. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairfield University. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge James W. Brown. McGregor is registered decline-to-state.

The compensation for this position is $178,789.
