Governor Brown Announces Appointments

Jim Martin, 56, of Sacramento, has been appointed director of the California Office of Real Estate Appraisers. Martin has served in multiple positions at the Real Estate Services Division of the California Department of General Services since 2002, including chief of real property services, assistant section chief and senior real estate officer. He was a public land management specialist at the California State Lands Commission from 1996 to 2002 and an investigator and property appraiser in the Compliance Division of the California Office of Real Estate Appraisers from 1995 to 1996. Martin was president and chief appraiser at California Property Research Inc. from 1981 to 1994. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $119,424. Martin is registered decline-to-state.

Megan McGuinness, 40, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California Film Commission. McGuinness has been a co-executive producer at Mike Mathis Productions since 2012 and was a co-executive producer for Entertainment One Television from 2011 to 2012. She was a consultant, supervisor and co-executive producer at World of Wonder Productions from 2008 to 2011 and a producer at Duly Noted Films from 2006 to 2007. McGuinness was a story producer and senior story producer at Actual Reality Pictures from 2004 to 2006. She is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. McGuinness is registered decline-to-state.
