SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Kenneth Brynjolfsson, 74, of Redding, has been appointed to Area Board II of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Brynjolfsson served in multiple positions at the Far Northern Regional Center from 1974 to 2003, including associate director of clinical services. He was director of psychological and social services at Hope for Retarded Children and Adults from 1971 to 1974. Brynjolfsson was an assistant professor at California State University, Hayward from 1968 to 1971 and a school psychologist in the Champaign Unit 4 School District from 1965 to 1968. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 and is a member of the American Psychological Association. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Brynjolfsson is a Republican.
Edward Flaiz, 44, of Stockton, has been appointed to Area Board VI of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Flaiz has served in multiple positions at Regal Cinemas since 2000, including floor supervisor and floor staffer. He worked at Food-4-Less from 1994 to 1999, Marie Callender’s from 1992 to 1993 and the Stockton Hilton from 1989 to 1991. Flaiz is an advisory committee member for the In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority and served on the board of directors for the Valley Mountain Regional Center from 2004 to 2010. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Flaiz is a Republican.
McGinn Morgan, 31, of Alpine, has been appointed to Area Board XIII of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Morgan was a peer mentor at the Interwork Institute San Diego State Research Foundation from 2008 to 2010. She worked at Video Ice Cream Pizza World from 2007 to 2008 and was a special needs assistant at Shadow Hills Elementary School from 2004 to 2007. Morgan was a teaching assistant at the Alpine Community Center from 2000 to 2003. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Morgan is a Republican.
Arthur Valdez, 58, of Stockton, has been appointed to Area Board VI of the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. He served as a teacher at St. Mary’s High School in Stockton from 1983 to 2009. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Valdez is registered decline-to-state.
