Governor and First Lady Honor Pfc. Alejandro J. Pardo

SACRAMENTO – On behalf of all Californians, Governor Brown and First Lady Anne Gust Brown honor Pfc. Alejandro J. Pardo, who bravely gave his life in service to our state and nation. The Governor and First Lady extend their deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

In memorial, Governor Brown ordered that flags be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol today. Pfc. Pardo’s family will receive a letter of condolence from the Governor.

Pfc. Alejandro J. Pardo, 21, of Porterville, CA, died July 8, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit in Maidan Shahr, Wardak province, Afghanistan, with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 978th Military Police Company, 93rd Military Police Battalion, Fort Bliss, TX. Pardo was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
