SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Sergio Azzolino, 42, of San Francisco, has been appointed to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Azzolino has been the director at Azzolino Chiropractic Inc. since 1995 and executive director at the Brain Balance Center of San Francisco since 2011. He served as faculty at Life Chiropractic College West from 1996 to 1999. Azzolino earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West. He is a diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board and holds board certification status in pain management through the American Academy of Pain Management. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Azzolino is a Democrat.
Heather Dehn, 41, of Sacramento, has been appointed to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dehn has been the owner of Dehn Chiropractic since 1995. She earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer Chiropractic College. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Dehn is a Republican.
Julie Elginer, 39, of Calabasas, has been appointed to the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Elginer has been a lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Public Health and founder of Elginer Advocacy Group since 2011. She was a graduate student researcher at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research from 2008 to 2010 and senior marketing manager at Amgen from 1999 to 2007. Elginer served as adjunct faculty for the Advisory Board Company at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 2002 and was a financial analyst for Abbott Laboratories from 1995 to 1997. She earned a Doctor of Public Health degree in health services from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Business Administration degree in marketing and strategy from the University of Maryland. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Elginer is registered decline-to-state.
Barbara deVries, 71, of San Francisco, has been appointed to the Professional Fiduciaries Advisory Committee. DeVries has owned Life Management Associates since 1991. She was coordinator of geriatric mental health services at the Alameda County Mental Health Services from 1984 to 1989 and a social worker there from 1974 to 1984. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. DeVries is a Democrat.
Aileen Federizo, 44, of Encino, has been appointed to the Professional Fiduciaries Advisory Committee. Federizo is the founder of ElderWell Professional Conservatorship, Fiduciary and Care Management Services. She has been a case manager at Greg Oveross and Associates since 2010 and chief operating officer at MyBarong since 1999. Federizo was a human relations manager at the Law Offices of Caren R. Nielsen from 2009 to 2011. She was an outreach coordinator at the Alzheimer’s Association of Los Angeles from 1994 to 1997, ombudsman at WISE Senior Services from 1992 to 1994 and activities coordinator at OPICA Adult Day Care Center from 1989 to 1992. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Federizo is a Democrat.
Marguerite Lorenz, 48, of Fallbrook, has been appointed to the Professional Fiduciaries Advisory Committee. Lorenz has been president of the Estate Planning Group Network since 2009 and principal at Lorenz Fiduciary Services Inc. since 2003. She is the co-author of “Ethics for Trustees – A Guide for All Who Serve as Trustee” and is a contributing writer to the Temecula Chronicle, Vintage Magazine and the North County Lawyer Magazine. Lorenz was a manager at Quire Financial Services from 1996 to 2003. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Lorenz is a Republican.
