Governor Appoints Matthew P. Guasco to Ventura County Superior Court

SACRAMENTO – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the appointment of Matthew P. Guasco to a judgeship in the Ventura County Superior Court.

Guasco, 53, of Ventura, has been a professional mediator and arbitrator since 2011. Previously, he served as of counsel for Arnold Bleuel LaRochelle Mathews and Zirbel LLP from 2008 to 2010, and Norman Dowler LLP from 2001 to 2008. Guasco was a sole practitioner for Innovative Mediation from 1998 to 2001. He was an associate attorney for Engle Carobine Covner and Coats LLP from 1993 to 1998, and Lascher and Lascher from 1989 to 1993. Guasco served as a deputy public defender for the Marin County Public Defender’s Office from 1985 to 1989. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Golden Gate University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge David W. Long. Guasco is a Democrat.

The compensation for this position is $178,789.
