Governor and First Lady Honor Sgt. Carlo F. Eugenio

SACRAMENTO – On behalf of all Californians, Governor Brown and First Lady Anne Gust Brown honor Sgt. Carlo F. Eugenio who bravely gave his life in service to our state and nation. The Governor and First Lady extend their deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

In memorial, Governor Brown ordered that flags be flown at half-staff over the State Capitol today. Sgt. Eugenio’s family will receive a letter of condolence from the Governor.

Sgt. Carlo F. Eugenio, 29, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, died October 29, in Kabul province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. He was assigned to 756th Transportation Company, 224th Sustainment Brigade, California Army National Guard, Van Nuys, CA. Eugenio was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
