SACRAMENTO – On behalf of all Californians, Jerry Brown and First Lady Anne Gust Brown honor Sgt. 1st Class Kristoffer B. Domeij, who bravely gave his life in service to our state and nation. The Governor and First Lady extend their deepest condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.
In memorial, Governor Brown ordered the flags to be flown at half staff today. Sgt. 1st Class Domeij’s family will receive a letter of condolence from the Governor.

Sgt. 1st Class Kristoffer B Domeij, 29, of San Diego, CA, died October 22 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Domeij was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
